Hello everyone!
I am Dr. Jana Howe. I had the pleasure of meeting some of you in December, but for those of you who do not know me, I am a West Virginia native. I attended WVU and then the University of Georgia for my veterinary training. I relocated to the Midwest after graduating and practiced emergency medicine and general practice before becoming a stay-at-home mom. While staying home with my two daughters, I taught part-time at a local veterinary technician school and eventually started doing medical transcription. When I was able to again work outside the home full-time, I became a public health veterinarian with the USDA. In 2013, I was able to move back to West Virginia and continued to work for the USDA until 2021 when SNIP WV of Morgantown gave me the opportunity to do something I had been passionate about for many years, helping to control the pet population and doing surgery. I can't thank them enough for this opportunity!! After working at SNIP WV for a few months, another opportunity came along, giving me the opportunity to move back to my hometown where I would be closer to my family and be able to give back to that community.
